To Wipe, or not to Wipe? The Underlying Conflict of Ark's Official Server Network

Are you a level 1 Bob (now Homo-Sapiens) and got your thatch mansion munched on by a dictatorial alpha tribe?

Are you a normal server alpha who's server has been S.W.A.R.Med (see what I did there?) by an opposing mega tribe then crushed in the dirt by an armada of beefy brontos and gargantuan gigas?

Are you a mega tribe that doesn't put any in-game effort for your tames and items and are at war with other mega tribes with similar qualities other than the difference in your names and how often you hold dick measuring contest?

Well, it doesn't matter what background you come from when we face the biggest enemy of us all... A CHAIR.

Seriously though, although the chair has been (mostly) patched, duping has been a major issue in Ark for a while. But even saying its a major issue is an understatement, especially within the past month where duping has become extremely trivial to do and even more widespread.
So despite the developers at Wildcard Studios previously insisting they weren't going to wipe the servers upon release but release new servers on their own cluster, now they are quiet again and rightly so.

The validity of this statement could be taken with a grain of salt now since such exploits that are present today, weren't nearly as much of a problem back then. With the addition of server transferring, it brought with it unforeseen consequences the developers must consider now.

So, that brings us to wiping the servers.

To begin, wiping the servers WILL NOT END DUPING, but after release, chances are most bugs will be fixed that caused said duping and the Wildcard team could focus more on permabanning players that do dupe or exploit the game's servers. One can actually see now Wildcard's support service is nearly nonexistent, non-responsive, or just downright is a ploy to make the player think something is being done to help them. The tinfoil hat wearers of the Ark community insist this could give the devs a reason to wipe the servers by simply being the easiest way to solve all the problems that have been built up, is to wipe them clean and start over. This could be good to get well with with the community as well as giving the servers a clean slate upon release for new comers.
Speaking of the community, how do we feel about a wipe?

Well I wouldn't speak for everyone, but from my observation, the stance in the community has shifted drastically since a year ago. Again, to being up that a year ago, transferring between servers wasn't a thing back then, so wiping the servers back then was an overall "no" in the community consensus because players held their servers more personally. Now, this opinion seems to have changed, even alpha tribes, hell, some mega tribe members have voiced their opinions on Ark's current server filth and they aren't happy with it.

Not to get low level tribe's hopes up if the servers do get wiped because chances are, the same, or similar tribes, will still be at the top, just not as prominent and a bit more cautious. These people at the top are still apart of massive communities, and strength definitely comes in numbers in someways.
Nonetheless, what are your thoughts and opinions? I personally couldn't care either way, I'd be a bit happier for a full wipe, but if it doesn't happen, so be it.

ARK's Console Update Surpise Release

I must say, I feel very conflicted (as many other Xbox One players do) as to the update's "early release" This release has included both PC's 259 and 260 update in one 16  gigabyte package has been delayed many times, but came earlier than expected after said delays and released about 24 hours ago during a 2x Evolution Event. It got many players upset due to many people raising newly hatched babies at the time. However I believe it was sorta worth it. To begin with what I believe is the crown jewel  of this patch: Loot Tables in beacons being refitted THANK THE ARK GODS I've already been adding many new saddle blueprints to my collection, including a new ascendant 88 armor megalania saddle. To say the least I'm so happy my new dinos aren't handicapped by lower end saddles anymore. However.... This update seem to have brought with it a very crippling memory bug in the servers. This causes many to crash multiple times withing minutes. If I got a pe...

ARK's "Big" Fix Update To Include Hundreds of Bug Fixes and Tek Tapejaras?

Just when ARK's next major version update for the PC couldn't any get more mysterious, Jeremy Stieglitz throws us an oddball I don't know about you guys, but I honestly don't think ARK needed many bug fixes okay enough jokes But to be honest, the next major version update for ARK has been oddly mysteriously, usually for most major updates, the patch notes will generally display them neatly on the ARK Forum or ARK Steam Forum a couple weeks ahead of time. But not this time, ARK's next major version update arrives on PC TODAY  with very little information on it other than numerous bug fixes, exploit fixes, and performance enhancements with a few new features such as the long awaited "Crafting Skill System," where presumably one's crafting effectiveness (formally crafting speed, at least this is how most think the system will work) will determine and item's stats. Added on that, Jeremy Stieglitz added this  photo  earlier this morning: Wh...

ARK’s Current PvP Meta: "Tame After Tame"

We all know how ARK has devolved into a slug fest of brute force and mindless PvP sometimes, especially at higher levels of play. With the game's release on August 8th this year (Hopefully), Wildcard needs to evaluate, reconstruct, and refine its PvP  Meta. Read  here  as I go into more detail on ARK's current meta and possibly some fixes. Please post your replies and thoughts on the forum post as to what you think? Do you agree? Or are you attached to hordes of brontos? Or do you just not care as long as your thatch mansion is not involved? Feel free to share your thoughts.
